The Owners of this former ranch house asked Morpurgo Architects to design as large an open floor plan, incorporating numerous functions, as could be provided under a single roof spanned by a 48 ft beam.
Our firm rose to the challenge by creating a 1,500 sq ft space that houses an Entry with an open stairway, a Family/ Living Room, an Italian contemporary high gloss Kitchen, a dining space, a sitting area, and a glass-enclosed office. The soaring space is defined by high ceilings, skylit areas, clerestory windows, a staircase that seems to float between a glass railing and a stacked stone wall, and bold, black entry doors.
The office features a contemporary gas fireplace, surrounded by reclaimed wood. A recessed TV lowers from the Living Room ceiling.
The Powder Room accommodates the Owners’ unique stainless steel pedestal vanity that supports both the toilet and the sink. The elegant Master Bedroom and Bathroom, along with other Bedrooms, Bathrooms and a Laundry Room complete the main floor.
The lower level entertainment area features a playroom, a recording space, and a fully-equipped gym.
We accommodated the owner’s passion for cars by creating a garage that provides room for his collection and related memorabilia as well as his work space.
